Domestic cement consumption increased 9.05% in October of 2025 and added a growth of 6.07% between January and October of this year

During October of the current year, the domestic cement consumption registered a variation of 9.05%, compared to the same month of 2024; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) based in the technical report Conjuncture Progress of Economic Activity.
This positive behavior answered to the dynamism of Works coming from the private sector and added a growth between the months of January to October of 2025 of 6.07%, compared to the same period of the last year.
Production of Fishing sector increased by 25.70%
Fishing sector increased 25.70% during October of 2025, compared to the same month of the last year, due to a greater capture of species of maritime origin (37.28%), destined to direct human consumption by 38.42%, in two of its four destinations: for frozen (81.5%) and consumption in fresh state (17.6%); meanwhile, it decreased for the preparation of canning (-10.9%) and cured (-39.0%).
On the other hand, the landing for indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil) totalized 830 tons, that against the 3,362 tons extracted in October extracted in October of 2024, registered a setback of 75.3%.
On the other hand, the continental origin fishing decreased 18.10%, explained by the lower extraction of species for consumption in fresh state (-16.3%), frozen (-25.4%) and for preparation of curing (-40.6%).
Hydrocarbons subsector increased by 4.21%
Hydrocarbons subsector grew 2.41%, in October of this year, compared to the same month of the year 2024; based in the greater volume of exploitation of crude oil by 14.0% and of liquids of natural gas by 3.2%; meanwhile, the production of natural gas decreased by 2.1%.
Electricity subsector increased by 3.31%
During the tenth month of this year, the electricity subsector increased by 3.31%, compared to the same month of the last year; based in the positive performance of the generation of hydroelectric origin energy (41.74%) and of win-solar renewable origin energy (29.88%); nevertheless, the thermoelectric origin energy decreased (-30.85%).
Among the main companies that increased its production outstood: Chinango, Empresa de Generación Huallaga, Orazul Energy Perú, Compañía Eléctrica El Platanal (CELEPSA), Inland Energy, Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Machupicchu (EGEMSA), Statkraft, San Gabán, Empresa de Generación Huanza, Electroperú, Energía Eólica, Empresa de Generación Eléctrica de Arequipa (EGASA).
With a growth of 12.13% consumption credits reached the greatest variation so far this year
During October 2025, consumption credits totalized S/ 78,670 million, growing by 12.13% compared to the same month of the last year.
Likewise, there were presented the positive results of the mortgage credits by totalizing S/ 70,472 million, increasing by 7.75%; followed by the credits granted to big, medium, small and micro-companies by an amount of S/ 216,749 million, growing by 2.83% compared to the month of October of 2024.
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking was of 6,745 thousand units, growing by 7.90%, during October of this year, compared to the same month of the last year.
Total imported amount increased by 7.27%
During the month under analysis, the total imported amount was of US$ 5,473 million, registering a positive variation of 7.27%, compared to the value registered in October of 2024; according to the information available as of November 23 of 2025.
Likewise, the import of capital goods and construction materials totalized US$ 1,728 million, increasing by 12.80%, compared to the same month of the year 2024. In addition, it increased the import of consumption goods placing in US$ 1,236 million, growing by 4.03%; and the import of raw materials and intermediate products placed in US$ 2,507 million and registered a growth of 5.39%, compared to the value registered in October of 2024.
