INEI and National Police continue the last mile of the census in high-risk areas at national level

A week before concluding the 2025 National Censuses, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), with the support of the National Police of Peru (PNP), continues the census registration of the population in the areas catalogued as high-risk across of the country.


From the department of Ayacucho the chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, outstood that this joint working seeks guarantee the security and the normal development of the census labours, through the accompaniment of the police effective to the brigades of census officers during their daily working hours.


“In these areas, although we reiterate the demand to the MININTER and the National Police of Peru to accompany us, for security of the census officers, we make it through sweeps and till 03:00 pm”, he explained.


Morán Flores stressed that it have managed to maintain a sustained progress of the census registration at national level. Nevertheless, he made a call to the population that had not yet being census registered to register themselves in the Census in Line.

All the households that for different reasons did not achieve to be census registered, must enter to our website censos 2025.com.pe and complete the census form to self- registered” informed Morán.


During his participation of the Table of Regional Articulation for the Security of the Census Personnel, performed in the city of Huamanga, the chief of the INEI expressed its gratitude to the effort and commitment of the 30 thousand census officers that work day after day to collect accurate and reliable information about the population and households of the country.


Likewise, called the citizens to collaborate with the process and open the doors to the census officers duly census registered during these last days of field work.


“For those that want to answer the census form in person, we make available the call center of the 2025 National Censuses: 0800 70225 and (01) 743 5331, where they can still coordinate the visit of the census officer”, he stated.


Morán Flores reminded that all Peruvians and foreign residents in the country must be census registered, since the information collected will be key to design public policies that improve the living conditions of the population.


Progress of the census in Ayacucho: 87% of household census registered
The chief of the INEI informed that, at the closure of the third week of October, 319 thousand 179 households of the department of Ayacucho had been already census registered, which represented the 87.3% of the total programmed (365 thousand 587 households).


The provinces that register the greater progress are: Huamanga, Huanta, Cangallo, La Mar, Vilcas Huamán, Lucanas and Parinacochas, where the work of the census officers continues firmly with the accompaniment of the National Police of Peru and the local authorities.
