67 of each 100 municipalities offers the Serenazgo service

Of the 1,891 existing municipalities in the country, 66.9% offers the Serenazgo service, with a total of 42,333 Serenazgo forces: 78.4% are men and 21.6% women, according to the 2025 National Registration of Municipalities, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics – INEI.


51 out of 100 municipalities attend by social networks
Almost of the totality of municipalities (99.7%) provides personal attention over the counter or Reception desk. Likewise, 79.4% provides attention through e-mail and 50.9% do it through social networks.


More than 91 thousand operating licenses granted by municipalities
68.5% of the municipalities (1,295) granted 91,130 operating licenses. Most of them corresponded to the sectors of services (53.1%) and commerce (42.7%). In addition, there were granted 3,561 licensees for establishments of crafts and manufacturing and 260 for agribusiness activities.


Municipalities have more than 19 thousand video surveillance cameras
The municipalities of the country that provides Serenazgo service have 19,737 operational surveillance cameras, of which 8,622 are in Lima Metropolitan area, which represented the 43.7% of the national total.


39 out of 100 employees of the municipalities of the country are women
A total of 320,188 persons work in the provincial and district municipalities of the country. Of the total of them, 38.5% are women and 61.5% are men. According to the labor condition, 41.3% works in the form of professional services contracts or service order, 23.4% belongs to the Regime of the Legislative Decree N° 728, 21.9% to the CAS Regime and 13.4% to the Regime of the Legislative Decree N° 276.


53 out of 100 municipalities are part of the Operations Center of Local Emergency (COEL)
52.9% of the provincial and district municipalities implemented an Operations Center of Local Emergency (COEL). Of them, 41.9% incorporated to its organic structure, meanwhile that 58.1% had not yet done it.


9 out of 10 municipalities have a Unit of Disaster Risk Management or Office of Civil Defense
92.4% (1747) of municipalities at national level informed they have a Unit of Disaster Risk Management or Office of Civil Defense. Of the total of them, 1,645 have communication devices, among them it outstood the access to the Internet (1,333) and mobile phone lines (1,081), among others.

77 out of 100 municipalities offer the DEMUNA service
At national level, 77.2% of the municipalities (1,460) attended a total of 371,863 cases through the Municipal Defenders of Children and Adolescents (DEMUNA).
The most frequent cases were: specialized legal counseling (26.8%), foods (16.2%), specialized psychological counseling (15.9%), visiting regime (10.0%), among others.


9 out of 10 municipalities collect of solid wastes
99.4% of the municipalities (1,880) executed the collection service of solid wastes. Of the total of them, 40.5% is performed daily, 21.7% every two days, 21.0% two times per week and 16.2% once a week.

2025 National Registration of Municipalities of the INEI collects data from 196 provincial municipalities, 1,695 district and 3,008 of populated centers of the country, in order to generate indicators of municipal management that serve as support for the planification and the policy-making in the regional and local development.
