INEI and PNP reinforce the actions to guarantee the security of the census officers in San Martin

With the commitment to guarantee the security of thousands of census officers that travels across the country, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in close coordination with the National Police of Peru (PNP), has been strengthening the strategies that assure a reliable, safe and closer to the population of the 2025 National Censuses.
In the department of San Martín, the chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, delivered the PNP the programing of the field personnel for the police accompaniment, especially in those areas considered of high risk.
During the Regional Articulation Table for the Security of the Census Personnel, Morán Flores reaffirmed that the INEI provides accompaniment to census officers and stated that has been enabled a direct phone line with the PNP for the immediate attention of emergencies.
Likewise, remained that since the Monitoring Center of the 2025 National Censuses follow-up is done in real time thanks to the geo-localization by GPS, which allows to know exactly the location of each census officer in full fieldwork.
The meeting included the participation of the chief of the Police Division of Moyobamba, PNP Colonel José Cenón Diaz Zulueta; the representative of the regional government, Mr. Inmer Leiva Vásquez; local authorities; and officials of different entities of the state.
Avances del Censo en San Martín: cifras alentadoras
The chief of the INEI stressed the commitment of the population of San Martín, in special of the population of Moyobamba, that already reached 80.2% of census registered households, less than a month away of completing the census process. Other provinces with remarkable progress are Rioja (86.4%), El Dorado (82.8%), Moyobamba (76.1%) and Lamas (75.9%).
In the case of Tarapoto, it was registered a total of 70.2% of census registered households. In addition, it shows good results are: Picota (79.5%), Tocache (76.1%), Alto Amazonas (75.5%), San Martín (69.3%), Mariscal Cáceres (68.1%), Bellavista (66.4%) and Marañón DATEM (51.5%).
