INEI: Almost 5 million of houses had been registered during the first month of the 2025 National Censuses

After the first month of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, had been registered 4,972.037 of houses at national level. This figure represents a progress of 35.8% of the total programmed (13,902.910), which evidenced the wide participation of the citizenship in this statistical process of great importance, which results will be use to design public policies in benefit of the country.
The chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Gaspar Morán Flores, informed that 11 districts of the country had already been registered one hundred per cent. These are: Churuja, Milpuc and Totora in Amazonas; Aco, Musga, Cajamarquilla and Santiago de Chilcas in Ancash; Masma Chicche in Junín; Curibaya and Estique in Tacna; and San Buenaventura in the province of Canta, Lima.
In Lima Metropolitan area, the districts with greater progress in the census registration are: Barranco (44.3%), La Molina (43.1%), Chaclacayo (41.5%), Breña (40.8%), Lince (40.5%), Villa El Salvador (40.5%), Ancón (40.3%), San Luis (40.3%), Jesús María (40.2%) and Magdalena del Mar (40.0%).
At level of departments, those that registered a greater proportion of houses registered are: Amazonas (42.2%), Huánuco (41.6%), Tumbes (39.9%), Junín (39.7%), Piura (39.4%) San Martín- Moyobamba (39.3%), Loreto (39.1%), Apurímac (38.5%), Huancavelica (38.0%) and Cusco (37.6%).
Monitoring in real time of census officers
During the presentation of the Monitoring Center of the 2025 National Censuses, Morán outstood that since the central headquarters of the INEI is performed the monitoring in real time to the 30 thousand census officers spread across the country. This platform allows to visualize the daily progress of the census registration, according to the houses programmed, both at departmental and district level.
Security of the census officers
The chief of the INEI reaffirmed that the security of the field personnel is a priority. He explained that permanent coordination’s has been keep with the National Police, the Serenazgo and regional and local authorities to reinforce the protection of the census officers. In addition, he remained that it has been performed Regional Articulation Table in Lima, La Libertad, Moquegua, Tacna and Lambayeque, in order to guarantee safe working conditions, especially in risk areas.
Finally, he assured that in spite of the incidents registered, 2025 National Censuses, has been developed smoothly across the country.

· The INEI will ask the number of the National Identity Card (DNI) to register each person.
· The qualified informant must be over the age of 18 and habitual resident of the household. Is whom will provide the information of all the members of the household.
