INEI coordinates actions with the National Police of Peru to strengthen the security of the census officers at national level

In order to strengthen the actions of security of the census officers that travel across the country within the framework of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Native Communities, that will finish in October 31st, the chief of National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Gaspar Morán Flores, had been holding coordination meetings with the National Police of Peru (PNP), as well as with regional and local authorities, in order to coordinate actions that allow to develop the census operative in security conditions.
From the city of Tacna, Morán Flores reaffirmed that the priority of the INEI is the well-being of the census personnel, for this reason it aims to strengthen the security in the higher risk zones through a joint work with the PNP and the District Serenazgo squads. In this sense, he invoked governors and provincial and local mayors to intensify the surveillance in each locality.
As part of these actions, the chief of the INEI participated in the Regional Articulation Table for the Security of the Census Personnel, performed in Moquegua and Tacna, where agree on joint action aimed at guarantee the necessary conditions for the proper development of the 2025 National Censuses, with special emphasis in the protection of the personnel during the labors of field.
Likewise, Gaspar Morán he appreciated the effort of thousands of census officers that walk through houses and households across the country, stressing his commitment with the commissioned labor. He highlighted that, after almost a month of initiated the census operative, the census personnel are fully identify and trained to fulfill with their functions.
Finally, convened police, regional and local authorities to keep the articulated work, reminding that the results of 2025 National Censuses will be fundamental for the design of public policies that benefited all the population.
To the meeting held in Tacna attended Mr. Walter Cardoza Chura, mayor of the district Ciudad Nueva; representative of the National Police of Peru; regional authorities and delegates of different sectors of the Government.
