INEI informs about the census intervention in condos and buildings across the country

After a week of the start of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) started the visits to condos and/or buildings across the country to collect information of people that lives in these houses.

The chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, explained that the chiefs of section and census officers will perform previous visits to inform the homeowner association about the development of the operative. In this stage, they will deliver a cover letter to and will have the date in which will be registered the residents of the building.

For data gathering, it could coordinate the entry of one or several brigades that will register the qualified informer’s, door to door of each department. In addition, the possibility of performing individual interviews in the reception, was also allowed or in a common area previously agreed inside the building.


Process control

Morán Flores outstood the permanent accompaniment to the field personnel to guarantee the fulfillment of their functions. He remained that the census officers identify with the official uniform —purple vest and cap—, credential with QR code and digital tablet, key tool of this operation 100 % digital.

In addition, he stated that the field work is monitored in real time at national level, which ensures the quality and reliability of the information, essential basis to design public policies in benefit of all the population. He also reiterated that the data collected is confidential and are registered in real time.
