National production increased 4.52% in June of 2025 and during the first semester of the current year grew 3.33%

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that the national production registered a growth of 4.52% in June of 2025, one of the highest rates so far this year and just exceeded by the result obtained in March (4.70%).
In the technical report National Production, is stated that the result of the month under analysis (4.52%) was based in the dynamism of the transformation and primary sectors, among those that outstood were the Manufacture, Construction, Agribusiness, Fishing and Mining; followed by the Transportation, Storage and Courier, Commerce and Other Services.
In addition, it informed that during the first semester of 2025, the productive activity of the country increased 3.33% and in the last twelve months (July 2024-junio 2025) in 3.75%.
The Agribusiness sector increased by 8.76%
The Agribusiness sector increased by 9.76% compared to June of the year 2024, based in the positive result of the agriculture (11.43%) and livestock (2.70%) subsectors.
In the behavior of the agriculture subsector outstood the greater production volumes of olive (17,725.2%), cacao (33.3%), paddy rice (26.4%), hard yellow corn (18.9%), avocado (9.6%), starchy maize (6.6%) and potato (4.5%); determined by the greater area sown of the main agriculture products, and influenced by the favorable weather factors (proper rains and normal to superior temperatures).
At the same time, it was registered a greater production of fresh milk (3.9%), swine (3.4%), poultry (3.2%) and beef cattle (2.2%).
Fishing sector increased by 33.70%
During June of 2025, the Fishing sector grew 33.70% compared to the same month of the last year, due to the greater landing of species of maritime origin (32.73%), intended for indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil), that totalized to 462,503 tons, and that against the extraction registered in June 2024 (241,565 tons), showed an increase of 91.5%. The greater shipments were registered in the ports of Callao, Tambo de Mora, Pisco and Chancay.
Fishing for direct human consumption decreased by 8.77%, due to the lower capture of species targeted to the preparation of curing (-34.3%), preparation of canning (-21.8%), for consumption in fresh state (-9.4%) and frozen (-6.1%). On the other hand, the fishing of continental origin increased 42.85%, before the greater extraction of species for consumption in fresh (33.2%) and frozen (114.5%) state.
Mining and Hydrocarbons sector registered a growth of 1.01%
Mining and Hydrocarbons sector increased by 1.01% in June of 2025, compared to the same month of 2024, before the increase of the metal-mining subsector (1.93%), that reported a greater volumen of copper (7.1%), zinc (27.6%), gold (7.0%), silver (3.9%), lead (9.6%) and tin (0.4%) production; nevertheless, molybdenum (-23.9%) and iron (-98.3%), decreased, this drop was explained by the suspension of productive operations of Shougang Hierro Perú S.A.A. after the event occurred the past May 5th inside their port facilities of San Nicolás, such as the break and drop of the only ship loader (specialized machine to load bulk materials) on the ship’s deck, that make impossible the continuity of the export of the mineral.
On the other hand, the hydrocarbons subsector reduced by 4.74% compared to June of 2024, due to the lower volume of exploitation of liquids of natural gas (-10.6%) and natural gas (-2.9%); meanwhile that it increased the extraction of crude oil (2.9%).
Manufacturing increased 7.26%
In June of 2025, the Manufacturing sector grew 7.26%, compared to the same month of the last year, determined by the favorable result of the primary manufacturing (14.28%) and non-primary manufacturing (4.85%) subsectors.
In the positive performance of the primary manufacturing subsector outstood the greater activity in the branch of preparation and preservation of fish, crustaceous and molluscs (68.07%); manufacturing of products of oil refining (18.16%); as well as the preparation and conservation of meat (2.80%). Meanwhile, it reduced the manufacturing of primary products of precious metals and other non-ferrous metals (-3.90%), as well as the preparation of sugar (-29.73%).
The increase of non-primary manufacturing subsector answered to the dynamism of the production of the industry of consumption goods (5.99%) and capital goods (76.63%); in spite of the reduction of the industry of intermediate goods (-2.90%).
Electricity, Gas and Water grew by 2.61%
During June of 2025, the Electricity, Gas and Water increased by 2.61% compared to the same month of the last year, explained by the greater generation of electric energy by 3.17% and gas distribution by 3.48%; attenuated by the decrease of the water production by 1.56%. In the increase of the electricity subsector outstood the area of hydroelectric origin energy by 25.20% and of non-conventional renewable origin (Eolic-Solar) by 31.63%; meanwhile, the energy of thermoelectric origin decreased by 20.03%.
The increase of gas distribution was based in the greater demand of Companies (35.2%) and in Vehicular Natural Gas distributor facilities (4.2%); nevertheless, the demand of Electric Power Stations decreased (-0.9%). On the other hand, the drop of the water subsector was determined by the lower production of the following companies: Epssmu in Amazonas (-40.0%), Semapach in Ica (-18,9%), Emapa in Cañete (-14.0%) and Sedaloreto (-5.7%); meanwhile that the production of the company Sedachimbote (11.4%) and EPS Grau (4.2%), increased.
Construction increased by 9.57%
Construction sector increased by 9.57% in June of 2025, compared to the same month of the last year, reflected in the greater domestic cement consumption (9.10%) and the physical progress of public works (11.22%).
The greater domestic cement consumption was associate to the progress of private Works such as condos and multifamily buildings, engineering works in mining centers, in infrastructure for the distribution of electric networks, in projects of commercial establishments, pharmacies, education institutions of the private area, among the main ones.
On the other hand, physical progress of public works grew within the Local and Regional level; meanwhile the investment in National Government decreased. In this respect, the investment in projects of road infrastructure and basic services works; on the other hand, the investment in works of risk prevention, as well as projects of non-residential buildings.
Commerce increased 3.14%
During June of 2025 the Commerce sector registered a growth of 3.14% compared to the same month of the last year, driven by the dynamism of the wholesale commerce (2.96%), mainly due to the sale of heavy-duty machinery for mining, construction and fishing sectors; in addition to the sale of medical and office devices; household goods; foods, beverages and tobacco, due to expansion of products portfolio and the opening of new facilities. At the same time, the sale of fuels and lubricants increased.
In the segment of retail commerce (2.93%) was observed the greater commercialization of pharmaceutical, cosmetic products and toiletries before the winter season and the “Father’s Day” campaign; optical articles, veterinary products, industrial security equipment, agro-chemical, watches and costume jewellery. In addition, the sale of fuels, grew in response to the greater vehicular flow.
Likewise, the automotive commerce grew 5.58%, due to the greater demand of light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles, favoured by commercial events such as “Salón Motor Perú 2025” and fleet renewal. In addition, it was observed dynamism in the sale of parts, pieces and accessories such as pneumatics and car bodies. Likewise, the maintenance and the repair of automotive vehicles, increased.
Transportation, Storage and Courier increased by 4.24%
During June of 2025, the Transportation, Storage and Courier sector grew 4.24% compared to June of 2024, due to the positive behavior of the transportation (3.16%) and storage and courier (7.74%) subsectors.
In the transportation subsector it outstood the greater transportation activity by road and pipeline (2.12%), due to the greater movement in road, of passengers (0.8%) and load (4.4%); also dynamized the transportation by railroad (5,96%), with increase of the movement of passengers and load. On the other hand, pipping transportation (-4.3%) decreased due to the lower production of natural gas and natural gas liquids. Transportation by air increased 5.80% driven by the greater traffic of passengers and load, national and international. Likewise, transportation of goods by waterways varied 7.53%, explained by the greater transportation of goods by water route; as well as passengers and cargo by river.
The growth of the storage and Courier subsector was determined by the greater service of storage and support activities to the transportation (8.18%) and of postal and courier services (2.34%).
Accommodation and Restaurants registered a contraction of 3.27%
In June of 2025, the Accommodation and Restaurants sector decreased 3.27%, compared to the same month of the last year, due to the negative evolution of the restaurants subsector (-3.32%); meanwhile, the accommodation subsector showed a positive result (0.49%).
The unfavourable variation of the restaurants sub-sector was determined by the closure of facilities due to commercial restructuration of main companies, as well as the lower demand by the increase of prices in the menu, temporary closure (16 days) of Larcomar shopping center and how affects the celebration of the Father’s Day, due to effects of the earthquake in Lima, in addition to the lower activity, due to citizen insecurity.
According to line of business, restaurants decreased (-5.11%), such as Chifas (Chinese restaurants), cevicherías (seafood restaurants), fast foods, pollerías (chicken grill restaurants), restaurants, touristic restaurants, among others; as well as services of beverages (-1.20%). On the other hand, it increased the catering service (57.93%) and services of food for companies of transportation and concessionaires (0.84%).
Telecommunications Sector and Other Services of Information increased by 0.27%
During June of 2025, the Telecommunications sector and Other Services of Information grew by 0.27% compared to June of 2024, based in the greater activity of telecommunications subsector (0.78%), that was dimmed by the drop of other services of information subsector (-3.74%). The positive behavior of the telecommunications subsector was explained by the increase of Internet services and subscription TV (4.4%).
The unfavourable behavior of other services of information subsector was associated to the lower activity in the production and screening of films and television programs (-6.9%), activities of TV and radio programming (-3.9%), edition activities (-3.6%) and informative programming (-3.5%).
Financing and Insurance decreased 0.37%
During June of 2025, Financing and Insurance sector decreased by 0.37%, compared to the same month of the last year, due to the lower credits (-0.78%) granted by the financing system, being attenuated by the deposits that increased by 1.77%.
Credits of financial system that registered decrease belongs to the Financial Companies (-45.5%), Credit Companies-Edpyme (-2.3%), Rural Banks (-0.5%) and Municipal Banks (-0.04%); meanwhile, partially counterbalance this trend the credits of Multiple Banking (0.7%) and the entities of Public Sector (8.4%). On the other hand, the deposits of financial system that grew were the Rural Banks (5.6%) and Multiple Banking (4.5%).
Services rendered to Companies increased by 2.98%
Services rendered to Companies increased by 2.98%, compared to the same month of the last year, due to the positive result of travel agencies and tour operators (5.8%), activities of administrative services and support to companies (3.3%), advertising and market research (3.1%) and professional, scientific and technical activities (2.5%).
Services of Government showed a growth of 4.27%
During June of 2025, Services of Government grew 4.27%, compared to the same month of the last year, in response to the greater activities performed by the institutions of Public Administration (4.29%), Defense (4.27%) and Other Government services (0.04%).
