INEI set in 2025 National Censuses!

Since Monday 4th of August until Friday 31st of October, almost 14 million of households Will be visited across the country for more than 30 thousand census officers, who will travel urban and rural areas to collect essential information about the reality of each household.
The chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Gaspar Morán Flores, officially announced the beginning of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities.
From the district of Cercado de Lima, Morán accompanied a census officers’ equipment in their first visits house by house, outstanding the commitment and preparation of personnel that Will be in charge of this great operative across all national territory.
Collaboration is a key
During his tour, the chief of the INEI stressed the huger importance of the 2025 National Censuses, since they will become in the main source of information to design focused public policies, oriented to improve living conditions of all the population.
“Today, more than ever, is important that we all collaborate with this national effort. We should open our doors with confidence and provide the data required with total responsibility. Censuses Will help us to know how many we are, where we are and what we need as country” emphasized.
Morán also made a repetitive call to the citizenship to actively participate, stating that the census personnel Will be duly identified with purple vest and cap, phot-check with QR code and INEI credential, that can be verified in its official web page.
A tool to know Peru better
The census form includes 67 questions grouped in five sections; it will be answered by a qualified informer: a person older than 18 years old that habitually resides in the household and knows the data of all their members.
Questions allow to collect valuable information about location and characteristics of housing, as well as aspects related to health, education, employment, migration, disability, ethnic self-identification and other key dimensions of the family and social environment.
Your information is confidential and is protected by law
The INEI reminds that all information collected during the operative is strictly confidential. Law N.° 13248 forbids to disseminate in individual way, even by judicial order. It will only be published the aggregated statistical results, without data that allows to identify persons or households.
In addition, the Institute ensures compliance with the Law N.° 29733 on Protection of Personal Data and of the article 97° of the Supreme Decree N.° 043-2001-PCM, that safeguards the security and proper use of census information.
