INEI: More than 60% of the selected personnel for the 2025 National Censuses are women

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) announced that, of more than 35 thousand recruited to participate in the 2025 National Censuses, 62.2% are women, which was equivalent to 21,911 female citizens, that will travel across Peru to collect key information for the country. Meanwhile that men represent the 37.8% of the personnel, with a total of 13,302 participants.
The chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, stressed this national course of female outstanding participation during the beginning of the national training course addressed to census officers and other positions. He underlined that the young population will also be protagonist: 58.4% of the convened are between 20 and 30 years old, meanwhile that the 25.9% is between the range of 31 to 40 years old.
Regarding the educational level, 66.1% of participants have univertsity superior education level, and 33.8% has non-university superior education level. About the civil state, 88.9% declared being single, followed by 8.2% of married persons, 1.4% are in facto marital union, 0.8% are divorced, 0.50% are separated and 0.2% are widow.
As part of the previous activities to the census operative, Morán Flores launches the training program of the personnel that will be displayed across the national territory during the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities. Within that framework, he expressed its recognition to whom will undertake this commitment with the country.
“I would like to express gratitude to all of you, since you will become in protagonists of one of the most important census operatives in the history of Perú. For the first time, the census Will be performed in a digital way, which will allow updated data about demographic, social, economic and cultural characteristics of the population. All of this in a context marked by the significative transformations, such as the international migration or the COVID-19 effects”, he stated.
During the training session will address key aspects of the census process, such as the conceptual framework, technical-operative procedures and the use of the Censuses 2025 informatic application, that has the electronic questionnaire.
In addition, the personnel will receive instruction about the handling of the mobile device (tablet) and will participate in an emotional intelligence and work commitment workshop, in order to strengthen its preparation face to this important national challenge.
