INEI: “We all add Peru”: well-attended open parade starts the countdown to the 2025 National Censuses

With enthusiasm and citizen commitment, authorities, officials, employees and neighbors from the district of San Luis added to the great parade “We all add Peru”, organized by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) as part of the campaign of sensibilization in the run-up to the 2025 National Censuses: XVIII of Population, VII of Housing and IV of Native Communities.
The colorful meeting started in the park Horacio Patiño and covered the avenues Circunvalación, Del Aire, San Juan, Agustín de la Rosa Toro and Jirón Edgar Zúñiga, spreading joy and pride I its path. The event convened thousands of persons that at the beat of music bands and Traditional dances of different regions of the country, disseminated with energy the census message: “We all add Peru”.
Gaspar Morán Flores, chief of the INEI led the parade, together with the representatives of public, private institutions and civil society, whom, reaffirmed its commitment with the success of this statistical operation of national coverage.
During its intervention, the chief of the INEI outstood that the censuses are the most important activity of the country, since they enable to collect key data about the population and housings of every corner of the national territory.
Likewise, he also reminded that the information collected will be critical to design public policies that improve the quality of life of all Peruvians. For this reason, he made a call on all citizens to open the doors to the census officers since August 4th, date in which the census endeavour will start across the country.

2025 National Censuses will allow to know the current reality of the country after the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the increase of the international migration and the vertical urban growth. This information will be essential to understand the demographic, social and economic changes that Peru lives.
The open parade was simultaneously replicated in the 26 departmental and zonal headquarters of the INEI, where employees of the institution paraded with pride and creativity, showing regional talent and promoting the participation of the citizenship in the censuses.
The INEI reaffirms its commitment to approach the population and invite all population to be part of a collective effort that Will allow us to build our country Peru with data, with future for all of us.
