INEI and the Regional Government of Callao signs cooperation agreement in support to the 2025 National Censuses

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) and the Regional Government of Callao signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement in order to coordinate efforts in the execution of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities. This alliance seeks to guarantee a comprehensive coverage across the region and to strengthen the joint work for the development of this important statistic activity.

The agreement was signed by the chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, and the regional governor of Callao, Ciro Castillo Rojo, during the official ceremony in the Regional Government headquarters. Both authorities reaffirmed their commitment with the generation of updated statistical information that contributes with the planification and development of the country.

The INEI will be in charge to carry out the censuses across the region, as well as to convene, select and train the technical personnel, to monitor the registration process and to guarantee the quality of the census operation.

Likewise, it will be delivered to the Regional Government the definitive results of the 2025 National Censuses, with disaggregation at national, regional, province and district level, according to the census cartography. In addition, it will provide assistance for the analysis and for better use of the collected information, as required to meet the regional needs.

On the other hand, the Regional Government of Callao will contribute with the dissemination of the National Censuses, promoting the active participation of the local authorities, community leaders, entrepreneurs and citizenry in general. In addition, it will provide logistic support to in the stages of training and execution of the operation.

It is worth to mention that the regional governor will chair the Regional Committee of Cooperation and Support to the 2025 National Censuses, since where he will make a call to institutions and social organizations to encourage the participation of the population in the registration process.

This agreement reflects the joint commitment between the INEI and the Regional Government of Callao, adding efforts in order that the 2025 National Censuses develops in an effective way and with broad citizen participation.
