Three departments concentrated the 58.3% of the national production of avocado in April of 2025

In April of 2025, the production of avocado increased in the departments of Lambayeque (113.8%), Lima (53.1%) and La Libertad (28.2%) compared to the same month of the last year, that together represented the 58.3% of the total produced at national level. This was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the Technical Report Peru: Economic Outlook by Department.
Likewise, it registered increased in the production of this crop in Piura (86.3%), Pasco (30.1%), Huánuco (12.9%), Ayacucho (11.7%), Junín (7.8%), Tacna
(6.1%), Huancavelica (3.3%), Loreto (0.7%) and Cusco (0.7%). On the other hand, there were setbacks in Arequipa (-23.7%), Apurímac (-6.5%), Ancash (-1.7%) and Ica (-0.4%), among others.

At national level, the production of avocado reached 170 thousand 388 tons, a higher volume in 26.1% to the registered in April of the last year (135 thousand 112 tons), driven by greater areas harvested and favorable thermal conditions that benefited the fruit ripening, mainly intended destined to the foreign market and the agro-industry, sectors that registered a greater demand during the month under analysis.


81.7% of the poultry production concentrated in Lima, La Libertad and Arequipa During April of 2025, the poultry production increased in the departments of Lima (4.7%), La Libertad (3.8%) and Arequipa (3.7%), compared to April of 2024, that contributed together with the 81.7% of the country’s production. There were also observed increases in Ancash (6.9%), Tacna (6.7%), Loreto (6.3%), Lambayeque (4.5%), San Martín (3.5%), Piura (3.3%) and Ucayali (2.7%).
Nevertheless, it registered drops in Pasco (-14.3%), Junín (-14.0%), Ica (-12.9%), Apurímac (-5.7%) and Moquegua (-3.0%), among others.

At national level, poultry production grew by 3.1% compared to April of the last year, based in greater volumes of chicken and turkeys for fattening.


Four departments contributed with the 45.4% of the total production of copper
During the fourth month of 2025, the copper production increased in Apurímac (73.7%), Junín (59.6%), Ica (38.1%) and Tacna (6.8%) compared to the same month of 2024. The departments together contributed with the 45.4% of the national total.
In addition, it outstood Cajamarca (39.3%) and Lima (6.7%) with positive performances. On the other hand, the production reduced in Ancash (-27.9%), Moquegua (-9.1%), Pasco (- 8.0%), Cusco (-5.4%) and Arequipa (-5.3%), among others.

At national level, the copper production grew by 8.4% compared with April of 2024, accumulating five consecutive months of growth. This performance was driven by the greater levels of extraction in companies such as: Minera Las Bambas (thanks to the operational stability in the pits of Ferrobamba and Chalcobamba), Minera Chinalco Perú, Marcobre, Southern Perú Copper Corporation, Hudbay Perú, Gold Fields La Cima and Minera Shouxin Perú.
In addition, it increased the production of zinc (49.4%), lead (24.5%), silver (18.5%), iron (5.8%), gold (2.9%) and tin (1.8%). On the other hand, it decreased the production of molybdenum (-9.0%).


Production of electricity increased in 16 departments
In April of 2025, the production of electric energy grew in 16 departments, compared to the same month of the last year, outstanding the following departments: Arequipa (49.5%), Ica (28.5%), Puno (18.0%), Huánuco (16.1%), Junín (10.7%) and Cajamarca (10.0%), that together contributed with the 29.1% of the total generated.

In addition, it registered increases in Madre de Dios (84.4%), Ucayali (56.5%), Lambayeque (35.8%), Tacna (33.1%), San Martín (16.3%), Ayacucho (10.4%), La
Libertad (7.6%), Tumbes (5.6%), Moquegua (3.7%) and Cusco (0.7%). On the other hand, there were reported drops in Pasco (-36.2%), Ancash (-30.8%), Piura (-4.8%), Huancavelica (-1.9%) and Lima (-0.2%), among others.
At national level, the electric production increased by 2.4% compared to April of 2024, due to the greater volume of hydroelectric generation, especially in power stations such as: Chaglla, Chimay, Charcani V, La Virgen, Malpaso, Yanango, Gallito Ciego and the complex Angel I, II and III, as well as La Joya and Aricota I. In addition, it grew the wind and solar generation. On the other hand, the thermic production decreased due to lower levels in power stations such as Chilca I y II, Las Flores, Fénix, Malacas I, Caña Brava, among others.


Collection of domestic taxes grew in 18 departments
During April of 2025, the revenues collected by domestic taxes totalized 20 thousand 705 million 768 thousand Soles, a figure higher in 23.9% compared to the same month of the last year. This increase was explained by the greater payments of income tax in its different categories (first, second, third, fourth and fifth), as well as by the regularization and the MYPE tax regime, explained by the value added tax.
Eighteen departments showed increases compared to the same month of the last year, outstanding Lima (24.8%), Arequipa (20.0%), Ucayali (11.4%) and La Libertad (6.5%), that concentrated the 94.9% of the total collected. On the other hand, it was observed decreases in Madre de Dios (-49.1%), Tumbes (-23.4%), Pasco (-14.4%), Moquegua (-11.6%), Huanuco (-6.2%) and Piura (-1.3%).
