More than 80 % of houses in San Borja were already visited within the framework of the Second Pilot Census

84.7% of houses of the district of were already visited by the personnel of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), within the framework of the Second Pilot Census of Population, Housing and Indigenous Communities. This operation also develops in the districts of Villa El Salvador (Lima), Belén (Loreto) and Yanacancha (Pasco), and will extend till Saturday 21 of June, as part of the preparatory actions towards the 2025 National Censuses, that will start in August.

The chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, informed that in the district of San Borja the census officers had visited the 84.7% of houses, meanwhile that at national level, the coverage reaches 72.0% in the selected districts for this pilot census.

Morán Flores supervised the registration in buildings of San Borja, where he explained that in order to facilitate the access to these houses, the census officers previously coordinate with the Homeowner Association, ensuring the security and the order in the visits.

Likewise, he reminded that the INEI personnel wear uniform and photo check with QR code, which allow to verify its identity through the institutional website. He also stressed that the interviews are performed in the door of the housing and that the census officers should not enter the households.

Census form with 67 questions
The chief of the INEI informed that the census form has 67 questions distributed in five sections.
These address subjects such as:

· Characteristics of housing (location, type, number of households, construction materials and basic services).

· Household conditions (type of fuel to cook, disposal of solid residues, migration, access to health and employment, as well as general data of its members).

About the collection method, stated that 2025 National Censuses will be completely digital. The census officers will use electronic tablets with integrated cards, which will allow to storage the information in real time.

He also, stressed that all data collected are confidential and essential to the design of public policies in benefit of the population and the development of the country.

2025 National Censuses will be performed during three months
Morán Flores also stated that the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities that will start in August of this year, will develop during three months. For this end, there Will be a participation of 40 thousand census officers that will visit all the country.

Finally, he also informed that it already started the call of chief of section, and that in the next days will open the registration for census officers. He also clarifies that previous experience is not required and that for the first time selected persons will receive a financial remuneration.
