INEI invites the citizens to participate in the II Pilot Census that starts today in Lima, Pasco and Loreto

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) makes a call to the citizenship of San Borja, Villa El Salvador, Yanacancha (Pasco) and Belén (Loreto) to actively participate in the II Pilot Census that starts today, June 10, and will extend till June 21. This operation is very important to tune up the field work and validate the new census form that will be used in 2025 National Censuses.

This was announced by the chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, who explained that the experimental census will allow to evaluate the operative procedures, the use of new digital tools and the functionality of the census questionnaire.

During this operation, the Census of Indigenous Population will be proved in the districts of Belén (Loreto) and Yanacancha (Loreto).

During the visits, the census officers will fill out a census form composed by five sections with 67 questions. This one collect information about the characteristics of the housing, the home, the population, migration, health services and economic situation, among other aspects.

Census officers will have the INEI’s uniform and a credential with QR code, which allow to verify his/her identity in the institutional web site. It is important to precise that they will not enter the houses: the interviews will be performed in the door of the home. In this sense, for those that live is condominiums and buildings, INEI’s personnel will coordinate with the Homeowner and Administrators Associations for the access in the times and dates that will allow a greater capture of their residents.

The INEI appreciates the collaboration of the citizenship, which participation will be essential to ensure the success of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, of Indigenous Communities, programmed for the month of August.
