INEI and the Regional Government of Cusco signs agreement of support and cooperation for 2025 National Censuses

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) and the Regional Government of Cusco signed an agreement of interinstitutional cooperation and support on 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, in order to establish joint actions that allow the total coverage of the region during the implementation of this important statistical activity.
The document was signed by the chief of the INEI, Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores and the Regional Governor of Cusco, Mr. Werner Salcedo Álvarez, in a ceremony performed in the headquarter of the regional government where both authorities reaffirmed their commitment to guarantee that the 2025 National Censuses carried out in a successfully way, achieving the updated data that contributes with the development of the country.
Main commitments undertaken
The INEI undertakes to implement the national censuses across the region of Cuzco, as well to call, select and to train technical personnel for the census operation and to monitor the census registration.
In addition, it will give the regional government the definitive results of the 2025 National Censuses at national, regional, provincial and district level, according to the census cartography. Likewise, it will support the regional government in the exploitation of statistical information in the lines of research that they need.
For its part, the Regional Government of Cuzco commit to provide priority attention to demarcation actions and territorial planning that the local authorities of the regional level demands, for the census registration and the presentation of census results with the official cartography.
Likewise, it will support the census dissemination that the INEI develops in order to raise awareness the local, communal authorities, entrepreneurs and the population in general about the importance of national census, achieving an active participation of all the actors before mentioned.
It should be noted that the Regional Governor will preside the Regional Committee of Cooperation and Support to the 2025 National Censuses and will call the regional authorities and social organizations for the participation of the population in the census registration.
