All Peruvians and foreign residents in the country will be registered in the 2025 National Censuses

In interview for the program Alta Voz of radio Vital, the Chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores, assured that all Peruvians and foreigners that live in our country will be registered during the 2025 National Census: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities.
He also stressed that the national censuses will show us the new radiography of Peru in order to know the characteristics of the population and the housing. “The censuses are the most important activity that the National Statistical Offices must be executed in each country”, emphasized the Chief of the INEI.

Morán Flores stated that the censuses will be carried out in a period of three months, starting in August and would be ended in October. He also added that the census registration will be in charge of 40 thousand census officials and the information will be registered in capture mobile devices (tablets). He also emphasizes that the information will be storage in real time.

Regarding the census questionnaire he stated that it will be approved by the Multisectoral Commission and he reaffirmed that will include the question about ethnic self-identification, as it was submitted in the 2017 National Census. “The alternative “mestizo” will not be eliminated”, he declared.
At another time, Gaspar Morán announced that the INEI will be carried out an Experimental Census to test in the field the methodology, questionnaire and execution times of the 2025 National Censuses. He also detailed that within the framework of the preparatory activities had already taken place two pilot tests with positive results.

On the other hand, Gaspar Morán Flores stated that the 2024 poverty figures will be submitted during the month of May as all as in previous years. “We will present the indicators of Monetary Poverty, as well as those of Multidimensional Poverty”, he also expressed.
