INEI announced the performance of 2025 National Censuses

In the city of Chiclayo, the Chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores, announced that during the second semester of the current year will be performed the National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities.

He also stated that among the main innovations for the development of this important statistical activity it outstood the use of digital tools to optimize the process of data collection in the households.

Within the framework of the preparatory activities of census, the INEI and the Regional Government of Lambayeque signed an Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement and Support to 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, which was signed by Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores, Chief of INEI and Dr. Dr. Jorge Pérez Flores, Regional Governor of Lambayeque.

It is worth to mention that the INEI has been coordinating with 1,891 district municipalities, 196 provincial municipalities and 25 regional governments, the signing of agreements of interinstitutional cooperation of support to the 2025 National Censuses, and this way guarantee the national coverage.

During his speech, the Chief of the INEI stated that the censuses must compromise the support and participation of regional and local authorities to guarantee the coverage and quality of information. He also emphasizes that the commitment of the authorities must be formalize through cooperation agreements, so the actions of training, dissemination, call and registration have the support of the regional and local governments.

Some other time, Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores stated that the censuses will allow to update the socio-demographic information of the population; as well as, the housings. He also pointed out that the results of this activity will be useful as tool for the design of public policies, allocation of resources and identification of economic development hubs. It will also allow to identify the vulnerable population and the labor force.

He also manifested that with the collected information will be prepare population profiles and projections that will allow the production of indicators that reflect the living conditions of the population in Peru.

INEI will display more than 40 thousand census officials for the national registration
For the development of 2025 National Censuses, the INEI will distribute at national level 40 thousand census officials, whom will be in charge of visiting the households in order to collect information.
