Gaspar Morán Flores took over the headship of the INEI

At a ceremony performed in the headquarters of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), which included the participation of the outgoing Chief (e) of the institution, Mr. Peter Abad Altamirano and the former chiefs, Dr. Alejandro Vílchez de los Ríos and Dr. Aníbal Sánchez Aguilar; Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores assumed the headship of the INEI, after being appointed as Chief of the institution, on Saturday 19th October of the current year, through Supreme Resolution N° 220-2024-PCM.

During his speech, Dr. Gaspar Morán appreciated the work performed by Mr. Peter Abad in charge of the INEI and emphasized that the performance of the next 2025 National Censuses, will be the main task of the institution and asked the support and commitment of all employees to guarantee the success of this important statistical activity.

He also, announced that during his tenure, he will promote the generational change in technical directions with the aim of giving opportunities to young professionals that outstood in each one of the areas. In addition, he thanked the support of employees and colleagues that had been working with him during his 45 years of professional practice in the INEI.

On the other hand, the outgoing Head (e) of the INEI, Peter Abad Altamirano also thanked the support received during the seven months that was in charge of the institution and committed to continue working and support the institutional labors and those related with the upcoming National Censuses.
