INEI will start the 2024 Annual Economic Survey

Since September 23rd of 2024 till February 21st of 2025, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) will perform the 2024 Annual Economic Survey (EEA), in coordination with the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), with the goal of collecting statistic, economic, financial information; and of the business management that performed the big, medium, small and micro-enterprises during the year 2023.

The data collected will allow to know the characteristics of the business economy in the country for the planning, formulation and evaluation of public policies in the different sectors and/or economic, commercial activities and provision of services.

The EEA will have a coverage at national level and the selected companies will be those that carry out the following economic activities: Fishing, Aquaculture, Hydrocarbons, Mining, Manufacturing, Electricity and Power Generation, Construction, Commerce, Transportation and Communications, Accommodation Establishments, Restaurants, Financial, Travel Agencies, Private Education, Private Superior Education and Services.

The reference period for the execution of the EEA will be the financial period of the year 2023; it means, the total of economic transactions performed by the companies and establishments from January 1st to December 31st, and in the comparative financial statements will ask information both of the 2023 exercise as well as 2022.

The 2024 EEA will get basic statistical information of companies and its establishments that allow to characterize the business economic structure at national level, by economic activity and by size of the enterprise. In addition, it will allow to update in a permanent way the Central Directory of Companies and Establishments.

The information obtained will be systematized and classified, which data base is updated for the development of the National Accounts, and for the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies by sectors.

The information that will be asked in the survey will be provided by the owner, manager, accountant or some person that the company designated. The big, medium and small companies could access through the web form of the “2024 Annual Economic Survey”.

For the Micro-enterprises selected, its information will be registered by the operator of the companies, through direct interview through an application in a Tablet, which will be executed since October 21st of 2024.

It is important to point out that in order to access to the web form you may enter to the portal of 2024 EEA https://censos.inei.gob.pe/economicas/ , if the company is part of the sample, you will receive a user and password. It is worth to mention that the INEI will permanently offer advice and support to the informants of each company.

The information collected will be saved in strict confidentiality in accordance with the established in the Supreme Decree N°043-2001-PCM - Regulations on the Organization and Functioning of the INEI, which is of reserved nature of the data collected and its strict confidentiality. This decree stated in its Article 91, that “The information provided by the sources, has secret nature, cannot be revealed in individualized way, in spite of an administrative or judicial order. It can only be undisclosed or published in unnamed way. The information provided, cannot also be used for tax or police purposes.
