INEI extends the deadline to deliver information to the National Registration of Municipalities of the country

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that it extends the deadline up to the 23 of August, for the update of the National Registry of Municipalities (RENAMU) 2024, for those municipalities of the country that are completing the Form in Line or in printed form. This statistical research will consolidate information of the 196 Provincial Municipalities, 1 thousand 695 District Municipalities and 2 thousand 959 Municipalities of Populated Centers.

The RENAMU should allow to get information about citizen security, management of disasters risk, public services, environment protection and preservation, licenses granted for the operation of businesses, urban building and authorization, education, culture and sport, health, social organizations, in cases attended in Municipal Defenders of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, promotion of the local economic development, neighborhood participation, collection of solid wastes, among the main variables of municipal management.

In addition, it collects information about personnel by occupation category and labor condition, equipment and computer resources, among others, with the purpose of providing updated and useful information for authorities, researchers, students and general public.

The INEI informed that the provincial and district municipalities across the country shall complete the “Form 01: National Registry of Municipalities 2024” that is available in the e-mail address https://renamu.inei.gob.pe/2024/#/login/f01, using the username and access password that were provided by the INEI through file addressed to the Maire.

Likewise, the municipalities of populated centers shall complete the information in the “Form 02: National Directory of Municipalities of Populated Centers 2024” through the e-mail address https://renamu.inei.gob.pe/2024/#/login/f02.

In the event of having some difficulty to complete the form in line or to access to Internet service, the INEI makes available to each one of the provincial and district municipalities and to populated centers of the country the form in PDF format, which could be unloaded and printed from the INEI website, entering: https://www.gob.pe/institucion/inei/campa%C3%B1as/9115-registro-nacional-de-municipalidades-2024

To facilitate the delivery of information, the INEI extends the deadline to complete the form in line up to August 23 of the current year.

In the case you complete the printed form, the municipalities of Lima Metropolitan area should scan and sent it to the following e-mail renamu@inei.gob.pe; meanwhile, the municipalities located at the interior of the country, should sent the printed forms to the Zone and Department Offices of the Institution, which addresses and e-mails are available in https://www.gob.pe/institucion/inei/sedes

The municipalities that do not comply with the presentation of the information requested in the time period will be penalized in compliance with that set forth in the articles 87°, 89° and 91° of the Supreme Decree Nº 043-2001 PCM. In addition, it is informed that the payment of the fine does not exempt the municipalities of the obligation of providing the requested information.
