This study is an important tool to understand the demographic dynamics of the country, since it examines the levels and the structure of fertility at department level. The analysis is deepened in the habitual residence of the mother as main approach, which allows a more precise comprehension of the demographic patterns at long-term, regardless of the temporary location of the persons during the censuses.
