The economy of the country, during May of 2023, presented a negative variation of 1.43%, determined by the unfavorable behavior of the Manufacturing, Construction, Financial, Fishing, Agricultural and Telecommunications; dimmed by the positive behavior of the Mining, Commerce, Electricity, Gas and Water, Transportation, Accommodation and Restaurants, activities mainly. It is worth to mention that the decrease of the national production was influenced by the adverse weather conditions that generated the Coastal El Niño Phenomenon such as heavy rains in the northern coast and center; and in the northwestern Highlands and north Jungle of Peru.
