Description
The Demographic and Family Health Survey – ENDES has as backgrounds important researches on reproductive health matters, such as: the Survey on urban and rural fertility and the Survey on Induced Abortion in Lima (1969); since 1974 to 1976 was the National Demographic Survey – EDEN; from 1977 to 1978 National Survey on Fertility – ENAF; IN 1981 was the National Survey on Contraceptive prevalence – ENPA; and since 1986 till the year 2000 was carried out in five-year review periods: such as the ENDES I 1986, ENDES II 1991-1992; ENDES III 1996 and ENDES IV 2000. Essentially, ENDES give us information about the evolution of the maternal and child health, fertility and mortality and provide information on the evolution of performance indicators for monitoring and evaluation of budgetary programs: Nutritional Articulated, Maternal-Neonatal Health and Access to the population to identity, among others.


Objectives
To provide updated information on demographic dynamics, health state of mothers and children under five years old, as well as to provide information about the state and factors associated to non-communicable and communicable diseases, as well as the access to diagnosis and treatment services; information that allows to estimate the indicators identify in Budgetary Programs, within the framework of the National Strategy of Budget by Result (PpR) that allows the monitoring, evaluation and formulation of population programs and of family health in the country.


Population
  • Particular households and their members, persons that are usual residents and those that not being residents stayed overnight inside the building the night before to the interview day.
  • All women of 12 to 49 years olds and children under 5 years old.
  • A person of 15 years old and older for each particular household.
  • All children under 12 years old.


Collection instruments
Data collection of coverage in the selected households, is carried out through a mobile device: Tablet.


Data Collection Method The method employed is by DIRECT INTERVIEW, carried out by personnel duly trained to the collection of this information, whom visit the selected households to complete the questionnaires of the survey.
