Demographic and Family Health Survey -  ENDES has as background important researches about the subject of reproductive health, such as: Survey of Urban and Rural Fertility and the Survey of Induced Abortion in Lima (1969); since 1974 to 1978 National Survey of Fertility – ENAF; in 1981 was the National Survey of Contraceptive Prevalence – ENPA; and since 1986 till the year 2000 was executed in quinquennial periods: such as the ENDES I 1986, ENDES II 1991-1992; ENDES III 1996 and ENDES IV 2000.

 

Essentially, the ENDES provides us information about the evolution of the maternal and child health, fertility and mortality and provides of information about the evolution of the result indicators for the monitoring and evaluation of budgetary programs: Nutritional Articulated program, Maternal and Neo-natal Health and Access of the population to the identity, among others.

 

To provide updated information about the demographic dynamics and the health state of mothers and children under five years old, that allows to estimate the indicators identified in the Budgetary Programs, within the framework of the national strategy of Budget by Result (PpR); as well as the evaluation and formulation of the population and family health programs in the country.

 

 

Data collection of coverage in the selected households, it was performed through a mobile device: Tablet.

 

The used method is by DIRECT INTERVIEW, performed by personnel duly trained for the collection of these data. This personnel visit the selected households for filling in the questionnaires of the survey.
