Is a statistical activity that allows us to get information about the characteristics of the household members, employment, unemployment and incomes. The Permanent Survey of Employment is performed since the year 2001 in the metropolitan area of Lima and Callao. 1600 households selected are visited monthly by a random method. The workload of the interviewer are 4 households per work area in which they were interviewed persons of 14 years old and over that live in the household.

1. To generate indicators about the employment and income, for the monitoring and analysis of the labor market.

2. To develop indicators for monitoring the evolution of the employment.

3. To serve as information source to public institutions (Ministry of Work, Ministry of Economy, Central Reserve Bank) and private (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, etc.) as well as researches.
