Embassy of Peru cohosted Pisco Sour Night in Bangkok to promote flagship drink

On 2 February, the Embassy of Peru in Thailand, together with the Commercial Office of Peru in Bangkok (OCEX Bangkok) and the Banyan Tree Bangkok Hotel, organized an event to celebrate the International Pisco Sour Day at the bar Vertigo TOO.

On this occasion, H.E. Cecilia Galarreta, Ambassador of Peru to Thailand welcomed guests—among them Thai authorities, members of diplomatic corps, and representative from companies related to Peru—to the event by emphasizing the importance of Pisco as the national spirit of Peru, a sentiment echoed by Director of OCEX Bangkok Erick Aponte, who highlighted the activities the OCEX has done within the last few years to promote the Peruvian drink in Southeast Asia. 

International Pisco Sour Day is celebrated yearly on the first Saturday of February in honor of Peru’s flagship cocktail, a drink declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation since 2007.
