Peru donated historical books to Thammasat University

On 24 January, Her Excellency Cecilia Galarreta, Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, visited the Faculty of Liberal Arts of the Thammasat University, to donate the books Obras Completas [Complete Works] by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Nueva Crónica y Buen Gobierno [New Chronicle and Good Government] by Felipe Guamán Poma de Ayala.

On this occasion, the Peruvian ambassador was received at the Tha Prachan campus by the Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Asst. Prof. Dr. Passapong Sripicharn; the Head of the Hispanic and Latin American Studies Department, Asst. Prof. Pongpun Krainara; and lecturers Assoc. Prof. Nutida Rasrivisuth and Ajarn Premthara Chaichumporn.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Galarreta noted the significance of the collections from these two authors, chroniclers who dedicated themselves to documenting Peru during the viceroyalty. Furthermore, the ambassador and the Dean also had the opportunity to discuss existing and future cooperation between Thammasat University and institutions in Peru.
