Ambassador of Peru paid courtesy call on Minister of Culture of Thailand

October 12, 2022, the Ambassador of Peru to Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Culture of Thailand, Mr. Itthiphol Kunplome. The Ambassador of Peru was received by the Minister of Culture, who was accompanied by Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture Mrs. Yuthika Isarangura, Deputy Director General of the Fine Arts Department Mr. Sathaporn Thiangtham, as well as other senior officers.

On this occasion, Ambassador Galarreta thanked Minister Kunplome for the support the Ministry of Culture has provided for the embassy, and expressed her appreciation of the culture of Thailand while highlighting the similarities it shares with Peru.

The ambassador and the minister also discussed possible cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture and archaeology, as well as collaboration within the topic of “Soft Power”.

It should be noted that in 2021, the Ministry of Culture played a part in the celebration of the Bicentennial of Independence of Peru by illuminating their iconic Thailand Cultural Centre with the red and white colors of the Peruvian flag.
