Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of Peru in hybrid seminar on “Peru's Investment, Trade and Business Opportunities for ASEAN”

May 24, 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of Peru, Ambassador Ana Cecilia Gervasi gave the keynote remarks in an event titled “Peru's Investment, Trade and Business Opportunities for ASEAN” at the Thai-Latin American Business Council (TLABC) headquarters, located in the Federation of Thai Industries in Bangkok, which was well attended by GRULAC ambassadors and representatives from Thai public and private sectors, and was also broadcasted online to other ASEAN countries.   Deputy Minister Gervasi reaffirmed that Peru is seeking to strengthen its economic links with countries such as Thailand and other South East Asian partners and provided data to support this assertion.

In his welcome remarks, the TLABC Chairman, Mr. Montri Mahaplerkpong, highlighted the existing economic cooperation between Thailand and the member countries of the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean (GRULAC).

This event was organized by the Embassy of Peru in Thailand with the collaboration of the TLABC, with the participation of Mr. Enrique Oliveros, EY Peru Strategy and Transactions Lead Partner, and Mr. Edwin Sarmiento, EY Peru Tax Associate Partner; and Mr. Erick Aponte, head of the Commercial Office of Peru in Bangkok-ASEAN, who described the ample opportunities and advantages existing in Peru for its trade and investment partners. 

Ms. Carmen Azurin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Peru closed the seminar encouraging interested parties to seize existing opportunities to boost mutually beneficial trade and investment links.
