Peruvian Ambassador bid farewell to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

The Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, Fernando Quiros, was received this afternoon by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Ambassador Don Pramudwinai, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic functions after five years.
 
The Thai Foreign Minister highlighted the strength of the bilateral relationship between Peru and Thailand and the determined contribution of the Peruvian Embassy in Bangkok to this achievement. The Peruvian Ambassador, on his part, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality received and for the permanent support received from Minister Pramudwinai and his team. Both stressed the importance of continuing to encourage trade and mutual investments and, to this end, to continue collaborating within the framework of multilateral mechanisms such as APEC, the Pacific Alliance, and ASEAN.
 
During the meeting, they also referred to the construction of a free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region, a process to which both countries have been contributing through their bilateral agreements and other multilateral agreements such as the CPTPP and the RCEP. They also highlighted the current bilateral program of technical cooperation for development 2021/2023 that is being channeled through the respective cooperation agencies (APCI and TICA). Finally, they agreed on the convenience of an early convening of the VI Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation Peru-Thailand (JCBC), in charge of the Thai Foreign Ministry.
