Ambassador bestowed decoration to administrative officer of Peruvian Embassy in Thailand

On February 17, 2022, the Ambassador of Peru in Thailand, Fernando Quirós, bestowed the decoration of the Order "Of Merit of the Diplomatic Service of Peru José Gregorio Paz Soldán", in the rank of "Officer", upon the Thai citizen, Miss Supinda Choykrua, in recognition of her very outstanding management and important contributions to the work of the Embassy since its opening in 1992 to date. The decoration was approved by the Council of the Order and made official by Ministerial Resolution No. 0492/RE of November 12, 2021.

The ceremony began with the projection of messages of greeting, pre-recorded on video, by the Peruvian ambassadors accredited in Thailand since 1992 and by the diplomatic officials who worked with Miss Supinda Choykrua since that date. The Ambassador of Peru presented her with the decoration and the corresponding diploma, signed by the Grand Master and countersigned by the Foreign Minister of the Order.

In his remarks, Ambassador Quirós highlighted the importance of the award and recounted the historical relevance of Don José Gregorio Paz Soldán y Ureta, three times foreign minister of Peru in the mid-nineteenth century. He also reiterated the recognition and gratitude of the Peruvian State to Ms. Choykrua for her dedication, responsibility and loyalty, as well as for her identification and commitment to Peru demonstrated in thirty years of valuable contributions to the bilateral relations between Peru and Thailand.

Due to the restrictions in force in Thailand, the ceremony had restricted attendance, but was attended by the Deputy Director General for the Americas of the Thai Foreign Ministry, Mrs. Nipa Nirannoot, and the head of the Peru Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; as well as the honorary consuls of Peru in Thailand; family, friends and colleagues of Ms. Choykrua.
