Peru assumed Pro Tempore Presidency of Andean Community for one year

On Tuesday, May 29, Peru assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Andean Community (CAN) for a one year period. The leadership of Peru during its mandate is based on strengthening national interest, regional leadership, and community development.

On that occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru pronounced a speech at the General Secretariat of the CAN, stressing that within the framework in which the CAN celebrates its 49th Anniversary, Peru assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency with optimism and enthusiasm taking into account the historical vocation that we share for integration, in constant seeking to create the most favorable conditions for the development of the people.
