26 de July de 2018 - 12:00 a. m.

Within the framework of the celebrations of our 197th National Anniversary, today the photographic exhibition "Machu Picchu" was inaugurated at Siam Paragon, one of the most important of the city of Bangkok, which will remain open until the July 29. The inauguration was attended by representatives of the Thai Tourism Authority and senior officials of the Boon Rawd Brewery Company, the company of soft drinks and beer with greater commercial presence in Thailand, and the business group Siam Piwat, owner of the most important shopping centers of Thailand, both co-sponsors of our photo exhibition.

The space destined for this exhibition covers an area of450 square meters and has more than 350 photographs of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, composed of some of the collection published on the occasion of the centenary of its international unveiling, in 2011, and other more modern ones provided by PROMPERÚ.

Also, the occasion was propitious so that the musical group "APU INKA" could execute some Peruvian songs for a greater diffusion and promotion of our culture in the frame of this event. Likewise, the company Boon Rawd Brewery has also exhibited audiovisual material (photographs and videos) from Lima and Cusco, obtained during its "Machu Picchu Ultimate Peru" campaign, which allowed a Thai delegation of 33 people to travel to our country from 1 to July 13, including a visit to the Palace of Torre Tagle and other tourist attractions of Lima and Cusco. The trip culminated with a visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the main objective of the aforementioned campaign.

In view of the connotation and importance that this event has acquired, the aviation company KLM has donated an air ticket Bangkok-Lima-Bangkok to the Embassy, which will be drawn among those attending the photo exhibition.
