On 12th October 2018, the photographic exhibition "PIRUW" was opened to the public in the prestigious gallery "House of Lucie" in Bangkok, composed of thirty-three black and white photographs made by the Peruvian artists Leslie Searles and Musuk Nolte.
At the opening of the exhibition, the Ambassador of Peru reviewed the history of the aforementioned artists and noted that, for more than a year, both photographers traveled from south to north and from east to west almost all of Peru visiting numerous towns in the mountains and native communities of the jungle, especially those in which they celebrated traditional festivities. The result, he pointed out, is an extraordinary work that unveils a mysterious and wonderful Peru. The world-renowned photographer Hossein Farmani, owner and founder of House of Lucie Gallery, expressed his special satisfaction to receive, for the first time, a sample of Peruvian photographer’s art and noted his admiration for the work of Searles and Nolte.
The inauguration was attended by around 100 people, including representatives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, members of the accredited Diplomatic Corps, Peruvian, Thai and third-country citizens residing in Bangkok, among other persons related to the world of art and photography.
The Embassy of Peru offered a cocktail “Pisco Sour” and some of Peruvian food; Quinoa Salad, Potatoes with Huancaína, Ají de Gallina, and Arroz con Leche.
The photos will be exhibited until 31st October 2018.
