Peru participated in the International Thai Silk Festival

On December 1-3, Peru participated in the 8th Celebration of Silk Festival ("8th Celebration of Silk: Thai Silk Road to the World 2018"), organized by the Thai government at the Centara Grand Convention Center in Bangkok.
The event was opened by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, and was attended by 48 invited countries, local authorities and personalities from the fashion world, including the famous designer Jimmy Choo.
Peru's participation featured Peruvian designer Yirko Sivirich who, for the second consecutive year, brought to Thailand a collection of twelve outfits made especially for the occasion with Thai silk. Also participating as special guests were Miss Peru Universe 2017, Miss Prissila Howard, and Miss Grand International 2017, María José Lora. In the embassy segment, the wife of the Ambassador of Peru paraded also wearing a work of Sivirich in Thai silk.
In addition to the inaugural fashion show on Saturday 1, the Peruvian designer was able to show his individual collection in a shared fashion show with Mexico and Panama, on Monday 3, as part of the "1st Thai Silk International Fashion Week".
The works of Yirko Sivirich and other designers will be on display to the public from December 2 to 9 at Central World, one of Bangkok's largest shopping malls.
