Ambassador of Peru in the Philippines presented his Credentials

On 21st January 2019, the Ambassador of Peru in the Philippines, with residence in Bangkok, presented his Credentials to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the Malacañang Palace, Manila.

Before the ceremony, the Ambassador of Peru laid a wreath before the monument to José Rizal, the hero of the national independence of the Philippines reached in 1898.

After receiving military honors and tuning the national anthems of Peru and the Philippines, Ambassador Fernando Quirós Campos delivered the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte of the Credentials signed by President Martín Vizcarra, who accredited as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in that country.

President Duterte, after welcoming the Ambassador of Peru, highlighted the large historical ties between both countries and the great possibilities of cooperation that open up towards the future both in the bilateral field and in the regional and world organizations.

They accompanied by President Duterte, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in charge, Mr. Ernesto Abella, and the Protocol Director of the Presidential Palace, Mr. Roberto E.A. Borje. Ambassador Quirós was in turn accompanied by the Honorary Consul General of Peru in the Philippines, Dr. Francis Chua.
