Accession of Peru to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC)

In a meeting held on 6th February 2019 between the Ambassador of Peru in Thailand and the Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, it was officially confirmed that during the meeting held by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 18th January, Peru's accession to the "Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia" (TAC) of 1976 and its amendment protocols was accepted by consensus.
In that regard, the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs will receive an official invitation from the Thai Presidency of ASEAN to visit this country, on the occasion of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, scheduled from 31st July to 3rd August 2019, in order to subscribe to the instrument of accession to the TAC and participate in the inaugural session of that meeting.
In that regard, the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs will receive an official invitation from the Thai Presidency of ASEAN to visit this country, on the occasion of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, scheduled from 31st July to 3rd August 2019, in order to subscribe to the instrument of accession to the TAC and participate in the inaugural session of that meeting.
