Peruvian film “Magallanes” closed the II Bangkok Spanish Film Festival

The Peruvian film "Magallanes”, directed by Salvador Del Solar, was screened on November 27, 2019, to close the "2nd Spanish Film Festival", which took place from November 22 to 27, organized by the Embassies of Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Mexico and Peru. The Festival was held in the cinema "Lido Connect", Bangkok, with support from Chulalongkorn University.
The Ambassador of Peru addressed briefly the audience to close the festival and present the Peruvian film, highlighting the great communicational power of movies for the promotion of “people-to-people” contacts, especially between geographically distant countries such as those of Latin America and Southeast Asia. Around 130 people attended, amongst them Heads of Diplomatic Missions, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, professors and students of Spanish language from different Thai universities, cinema fans, and others.
Before the show, attendees enjoyed the traditional Pisco Sour and chicha morada as well as Peruvian snacks, such as chili chicken, quinoa salad, tuna causa, mushroom ceviche and typical desserts, such as rice pudding and alfajores.
