On Saturday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 23rd, 2020, the 53rd edition of the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar presided over by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, sister of the King of Thailand, took place at the “Siam Paragon” shopping center in Bangkok. The motto of the Bazaar this year was "Giving love, spreading happiness".

58 countries showed and offered their most representative products for sale and contributed part of the takings to support the humanitarian work of the Thai Red Cross. Peru had outstanding participation with two stands in which it presented diverse handicrafts and SuperFoods, respectively, thanks to the efforts of the Embassy and support of local importing companies. Approximately 45 thousand people attended the Bazaar.

After officially inaugurating the 53rd Bazaar, Princess Sirindhorn made her usual tour of the stands and had special deference to Peru, stopping to talk with the Ambassador and spouse to whom she expressed her appreciation for Peruvian products, the culture and history of the country and her pleasant memories of her visit to Peru in April 2019. It should be noted that the spouse of the Ambassador of Peru integrated, for the second consecutive year, the directive of the Co-organizing Diplomatic Committee of the Bazaar.

At the opening session, the Ambassador of Peru and his wife handed Princess Sirindhorn two baskets containing samples of the Peruvian products offered at the stands, including some alpaca skin made handicrafts, quinoa products, chia, lucuma, maca, camu-camu, coffee and fresh grapes imported from Peru.

As in previous years, the Thai public showed great appreciation and preference for Peruvian products.
