Ambassador of Peru paid working visit to Thai Space Agency (GISTDA)

Today the Ambassador of Peru paid a working visit to the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand(GISTDA) to support the coordination with the National Commission for Aerospace Research and Development of Peru (CONIDA) to resume the cooperation on the use of satellite technology between the two parties. The Peruvian ambassador was received by Dr. Pakorn Apaphant, Executive Director of GISTDA, and a group of senior officials.

During the meeting, it was confirmed that next November, GISTDA and CONIDA will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their inter-institutional relations on the topic of satellite technology and its applications. In addition, the cooperation agencies of both countries, APCI and TICA, have agreed to include a technical cooperation project between CONIDA and GISTDA in the bilateral cooperation program 2021-2023.

The cooperation between the space agencies of Peru and Thailand has over 10 years of history and will be reinforced now that both countries share satellite technology and related and compatible experience for the benefit of sectors such as agriculture, mining, disaster prevention, water and forest management, detection of archaeological remains, among others.

In November, Peru and Thailand are celebrating 55 years of fruitful and mutually beneficial diplomatic relations.
