Peru and Thailand celebrated IV Meeting of Bilateral Working Group on Cooperation

The IV Meeting of the Technical Cooperation Working Group between the Peruvian International Cooperation Agency (APCI) and the Thai International Cooperation Agency (TICA) took place today.

Today, the IV Meeting of the Technical Cooperation Working Group between the Peruvian International Cooperation Agency (APCI) and the Thai International Cooperation Agency (TICA) was held via videoconference. The delegations were headed, respectively, by the Executive Director of APCI and the General Director of TICA, and were made up comprised the ambassadors of both countries in Lima and Bangkok, as well as representatives of the various government agencies and institutions linked to specific bilateral or multilateral cooperation projects for the period 2021-2023.

This bilateral coordination mechanism was established in 2006 to promote South-South cooperation between both countries in areas where they have needs or strengths, as well as good practices or successful experiences to share. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown in all its harshness the urgent need to intensify international cooperation to overcome the enormous health and economic challenges facing our Peoples and humanity as a whole.

Among other areas, both countries have agreed to implement cooperation projects in the fields of sustainable tourism, including gastronomic tourism; alternative development to replace illicit crops; space and satellite technologies; public health, and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic; as well as training of human resources.
