Embassy of Peru participates in International Gastronomic Festival in Bangkok

The Embassy of Peru participated in the first International Gastronomic Festival organized by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) in Bangkok.

At the kind invitation of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), today the Embassy of Peru participated in the First International Gastronomic Festival organized by the UTCC Office of International Affairs at its headquarters in Bangkok.

The purpose of the festival was to disseminate among its students in the specialty of cooking, business administration, hotels, tourism, among others, the peculiarities of the gastronomy of some countries, on this occasion, Peru, China, and Korea.

On behalf of Peru, the Chef of the embassy, ​​Ms. Ana Rosa Castañeda made a demonstration of preparing the popular dish "causa" in two versions: with chicken and with prawns. In addition to these dishes, attendees were also able to taste “alfajores” and "chicha morada".

The ambassador of Peru highlighted the millenary tradition and the recognized quality and variety of the current Peruvian exportable offer of "Super Foods". Thailand is one of the main markets for Peruvian exports of these products in Southeast Asia (grapes, quinoa, blueberries, Hass avocado, maca, chia, etc.).
