UPCOMING CONFERENCE:  “Sipan, Discovery and Research”

The Embassy of Peru is honoured to introduce one of the most important Peruvian archaeologists, Dr Walter Alva, who is going to present the lecture “Sipan, Discovery and Research”. This virtual conference will be moderated by Dr. Bill Sillar, Senior Lecturer at the UCL, Institute of Archaeology.
 
Dr. Walter Alva is a Peruvian archaeologist and researcher. He leads the project of  Sipan in Lambayeque, Peru, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century worldwide . Dr. Alva has won recognition for excavating the tomb of a Moche lord in Sipan and discovering murals at a 4,000-year-old  Peruvian temple at Ventarron, in the Lambayeque region.
 
At the conference, Dr. Alva will share his experience leading this extraordinary discovery and how he managed to give it a value beyond the cultural dimension.
