Virtual meeting with the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie (MIRF) of the Province of Quebec, Mrs. Nadine Girault.

On February 12th, the Ambassador of Peru, Roberto Rodríguez Arnillas, held a virtual working meeting with the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie (MIRF) of the Province of Quebec, Mrs. Nadine Girault.

 

On the occasion of this meeting, Ambassador Rodríguez informed Minister Girault about important aspects of the current cooperation between Peru and Canada; especially in the fields of health, education and science and technology. Ambassador Rodríguez and Minister Girault coincide on the need to gather efforts to establish potential channels of cooperation between Peru and the Province of Quebec in the framework of the complex situation derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, which poses challenges for Peruvian citizens as well as for Quebecers. The Ambassador of Peru also reiterated the importance of having access to the support and experience of the Province of Quebec, in managing the effects and impacts from COVID-19.

 

Finally, Ambassador Rodríguez and Minister Girault highlighted the progress in the ongoing negotiations, in order to renew the scope of the Cooperation Agreement on Higher Education between the Government of Peru and the Government of the Province of Quebec, which will promote new opportunities for student exchange and granting of scholarships for Peruvian and Quebecer students.
