Check information of internal migration of population in Peru

If you need to get information about the internal displacement, the everyday mobility and spatial segregation, you may check through the system Portal Odisea Perú.

This portal integrates information of census data and presents through tables, graphics and maps at departmental, provincial and district level. It is prepared with the information that collects the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) and technical support of the Latin America and Caribbean Demographic Center (CELADE).

The platform is composed by three modules:

  • Internal migration: shows the displacement of one person or group of persons through a geographic limit inside the country, from a origin place to a destination place, with the intention to adopt a new residence.
  • Everyday mobility: it means the displacement of the population between two places with different geographic limits to perform labor or educational activities.
  • Spatial segregation: shows the level of inequality of the population in a territory, providing evidence of the differences between the residents of the different zones of a location.
