La construcción del Puente Vehicular Tarata es de importancia económica y social para el país, pero principalmente para la región San Martín.

• A nivel social: el Puente Vehicular Tarata permitirá que la conectividad y el traslado sea rápido, eficiente y seguro para la población de los distritos de Juanjuí y Pajarillo, brindando mayor facilidad de acceso a los centros educativos y otros servicios públicos, como el hospital de EsSalud en Juanjuí, reduciendo los tiempos necesarios para el transporte de pacientes por casos de emergencia o atención general.
• A nivel económico: la construcción del Puente Vehicular Tarata facilitará el traslado de los productos de cultivo como arroz, maíz, yuca, algodón y frutales de Juanjuí y Pajarillo, optimizando así la logística de los agricultores y fundos agrícolas de la zona. Asimismo, con este puente se logrará acceder con mayor facilidad a las empresas de transporte terrestre de pasajeros, promoviendo el turismo vivencial de naturaleza para ambos distritos.
