Peru, original source of the potato, offers a huge variety of native potato species of different shapes, colours, aromas and textures. Among them the Native Potato, Mashuas, Ollucos and Ocas stand out, many of which are distributed throughout the world. The “Potato Route” is an agrotourism proposal in the Peruvian region of Ayacucho that allows visitors to learn about the potato, its origin, evolution, plantation and use in gastronomy.
 
The route begins in the Toccto area and continues through Condorccocha, which stands out for its colorful fields source of 910 varieties of native Peruvian potatoes with yellow, red, blue and white flesh, 53 varieties of Mashuas, 50 varieties of Ocas and 20 varieties of Premium Ollucos. The tour is complemented by visits to natural settings such as the Pumapaqcha waterfall, the bird observatories in the Condorccocha and Valenzuela lakes and the Puyas de Raimondi in the Chanchayllo area.
