Embassy of Peru and SENASA pave way for upcoming Peruvian Hass avocado to the Thai market and negotiations for pomegranate market access

On May 8, a working meeting took place in the city of Bangkok between the Embassy of Peru and a Delegation of SENASA, formed by Mr. Orlando Dolores, Director of Plant Quarantine and Mr. Javier Layme, Export Specialist, who visited this country to meet with the Department of Agriculture (DOA) of Thailand. In these meetings, actions were evaluated for the next implementation of the Phytosanitary Protocol for access of Peruvian Hass Avocado to the Thai market, a process that is about to conclude after 8 years of negotiations and coordinated work of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SENASA.
In addition, the Embassy of Peru coordinates producers of Hass avocado participate in the food and beverage fair "THAIFEX World of Food Asia 2019", the most important food and beverage fair in Southeast Asia which will be held in Bangkok, from May 28 to June 1, 2019. In the meeting with the Thai DOA, were also consultations for the access of Peruvian pomegranate to Thailand.
