FROM 11 NOVEMBER 2021 TO 20 FEBRUARY 2022 STEP INTO THE VIBRANT WORLD OF PERU WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO PERU AT THE BRITISH MUSEUM, ONE OF THE WORLD'S BEST-KNOWN AND MOST-VISITED MUSEUMS.

Organised on the occasion of Peru’s bicentennial anniversary of independence, this exhibition aims to explore the history, beliefs and artistic traditions of the pre-Columbian societies who inhabited the Central Andean Region -one of the most rich and diverse, but challenging territories in the world- through the objects they left us behind.
Discover how people have thrived for millennia and enjoy fascinating worldviews and great artistic sophistication, achieved by this civilisation during more than three thousand years in the process of adapting to the Coastal deserts, Andean slopes and valleys, and the tropical forests of the Amazon.
Striking, large-scale photography and videos of iconic sites, including the Nasca geoglyphs and Machu Picchu, will also give visitors a vivid sense of place and an appreciation of the artistic and architectural prowess of ancient Andean cultures from Peru.
